Lots of Hard Work

This past weekend, Kurt and I decided we would tackle the yard...literally. When we moved into the house, there were some shrubs planted in the front, but due to our lack of TLC for our poor plants, most of them didn't make it through the winter - even here in Texas where it doesn't get that cold. Also, before Cash's kennel was built and we tested him in the backyard, he decided to move around a few of the plants in the backyard on his own. Anyway, we pulled up most of the plants a month or so ago, and finally got around to fixing the yard and re-planting. We got up early on Saturday morning and went to a nursery close to our house. Thanks to some help from people there, we made a decision on what to get. Everything is pretty small right now, but hopefully when it gets bigger, our "homemade" landscaping job will have been well worth it. It literally took us all day long! Luckily the weather was beautiful. We worked so hard in the yard all day, but afterwards it felt like we really accomplished something when we were able to see it all put together. Cash inspected and approved our plants after they were in the ground. Luckily he didn't try any of his own landscaping techniques.

Smaller flowering plants around the tree in the front yard

Back porch area. In the pot we planted a Meyer Lemon tree. Since Saturday Cash has already moved this one. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it makes it.

Our rosemary plant that was given to us at Christmas from my Dad and Johnette...it finally made it from the pot into the ground!
