Crown Moulding Project

Every summer we have attempted to try and take on a project at our house. This summer it was crown moulding. This project, although our idea, was really put into the hands of my Dad and brother. It was a little more than what we and they were thinking it would be due to some of the odd angles and corners in our living area. Kurt and I painted the moulding in our garage and my Dad and Chad arrived Thursday night and started cutting it and putting it up on Friday morning. They taught Kurt and I how to caulk the moulding and the four of us finished doing that on Saturday afternoon. Once they left on Saturday, we debated on taking a break but decided to go ahead and finish it out. We touched up the corners and nail holes with more paint and used our wall paint to go under the moulding. We finally laid down around 9pm Saturday night and were completely exhausted. I'm sure my Dad and Chad would say the same. We couldn't ever thank them enough for taking this on with us and for all of their hard work and help. Here are some pictures of what we all accomplished this weekend. Random project: an old window I picked up and then added some vintage prints to for our bathroom.
The rest of the pictures are before and after the moulding went up...

After thought: After we finished the moulding, Kurt and I were just sitting at home on Saturday night admiring the work that had been done and thinking that it really added so much to our house. As we were just staring at everything, I added - "Don't you think it would really bring out the moulding if we painted the ceilings the same color as our walls?" His response - "Maybe we'll save that for next summer's project." Any thoughts?

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Kurt and I are celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary today! As I was thinking back on the years since our wedding, I could hardly believe it has been 3 years already. It seems like just yesterday we were heading to the church and celebrating with all of our family and friends. I feel blessed to have so much in my life and to have a wonderful person to share it with. The love and support from our families has been a great help to us as we've started our life together. We are looking forward to celebrating tonight and to many more years of celebrating to come.

Chad's House

At the end of January Chad's house caught fire in what was said to be an electrical issue in his master bathroom. It was a crazy time, and we felt thankful that he was not at home when the fire started and that Hayden was not with him at the time either. It took a while to get going with the insurance company but just 4 short weeks after the fire, the Charlie Coco Construction team got started on his new home. They finished it in just 9 weeks! I think Chad was ready to move out of my Dad's house just as they were ready to see him get into his new place. It is just beautiful...here are some pictures. Father's Day Weekend

We were in Beaumont for Father's Day this past weekend and although we didn't do a whole lot, we had a blast! I had my camera with me for some of the weekend and tried to remember to take pictures. My aunt, uncle, and cousins from Austin came in for the weekend, and of course, I didn't get one picture of all of us together! We had a great time eating yummy food and getting to catch up with everyone. Hayden joined us for the weekend to kick off summer with his Daddy. I'm sure it's going to be a great one.
